History of Naan

The word naan comes from the Persian word “non,” meaning bread. The Egyptians brought yeast to India around 2500 years ago. It is at this time naan was created. Noble families enjoyed naan during breakfast.
Simple ingredients make up naan – flour, water, yogurt, and yeast. Traditionally cooked in a tandoor, people enjoy naan worldwide.
